This is an odd flash for the XA series that ues a fixed battery that appears to be single use (?) It seems that you were supposed to send it in for service when it died.
This one appears unused and the battery is working but I cannot say for how long. People do replace the batteries but you are on your own if you want to do that (and be aware that you can get a nasty shock from a capacitor.
